The vivacity and elegance of a mature dry white Bordeaux wine

Produced in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, Château Latour-Martillac Blanc 2006 is an elegant Grand Cru Classé de Graves white Bordeaux. Made from the estate’s classic Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon vineyards, it captures the freshness and mineral depth for which the Graves region is renowned. Now beautifully mature, the wine offers layered aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry, lemon, light vanilla cream and subtle mineral notes. The palate is full-bodied yet vibrant, with tangy fruit, bright acidity and a refined toasted edge. A serious and expressive mature Bordeaux Blanc

A long winter and a favourable spring helped a fast flowering, suggesting homogenous fruits. The drought of July, as a chilly August weather, just slowed down the maturity, helping a rich constitution of grapes. In September and October, the harvest took place at the usual time and in fine conditions.

Period of harvest
From August 30th to September 19th, 2006

Blending
56% Sauvignon Blanc
40% Sémillon

Tasting notes & Critic Scores

Wine Enthusiast – 91/100

« Go to this wine for freshness, crispness. It tastes like a Loire Sauvignon Blanc in its freshness, but adds to that with some toast. »

Wine Spectator – 90/100

« Displays complex and subtle aromas of light vanilla cream, mineral and lemon. Full-bodied, with lots of tangy fruit coming from an interesting combination of ripe fruit and bright acidity. This has serious intensity. Best after 2009. »
